Q. |
Are the uprights designed to be sunk in the ground or fixed with meta post spikes? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi David,
You can do either.
You can either attache ground anchors, fixing spikes, or simply cement the legs into the ground.

Q. |
What is the height of the uprights. If I am to fix in concrete then the overall height of the arch will reduce?
|
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi David,
The overall height of the arch should not reduce, as it is provided with extra long legs, designed to be sunk into the ground. Depending on how much you sink into the ground, you may lose a few inches in height.

Q. |
What size are the posts? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Terence,
The posts are 3 inches square. How are you fixing the arch into the ground? The unit will come with ground fixing anchors, or you can concrete the arch into the ground. Hope this helps?

Q. |
Hi, Please can you advise if the 2 pale green lych gates will fit this arch internally. Thank you. |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Rita The Lych Gates are 1.2m in width and the Ryeford Arch is 1.34m wide. It is possible to fit these gates to it but you may need to build them out slightly to prevent any gap between the gates.

Q. |
I would like to fix 3 feet using spikes about 20"long and 1 foot using a plate to fix to a slab. Please can you let me know where i can buy these to be the right size to fit this product. There are no fixing anchors supplied with the arch as suggested in your earlier answer. I am not sure how these would work and whether they might be an alternative for me. Should they have been supplied? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Mrs Parker,
No anchors are supplied with this arch. The best place to pick up anchors or ground fixings is a local garden centre or DIY store. We recommend sinking about 200-300mm of the legs into the ground.

Q. |
How long are the feet from the bottom of the trellis that go into the ground and do you sell the metal cups that the feet go into in the ground? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Alan,
The legs sink about 300mm into the ground. This arch shouldn't need anchors, but we do sell them within our fencing section if you require them or they can be obtained from any garden centre or hardware store.

Q. |
Could I fix one of your lightweight mirrors on the back of the Ryeford arch and if yes what would I fix it with. Wendy |
| |
|
| |
A. |
ear Wendy
Many thanks for your question with regard to fixiing a Lightweight Mirror to the back of the Ryeford Arch by Forest
We would advise you do not attach mirrors to the Arch as this is a free standing arch designed to hold garden roses, honeysuckle etc and a mirror would be too heavy and unstable the arch
We hope this helps

Q. |
Can the ryeford arch be secured with metal stakes? Thanks |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Pauline
You can indeed secure this using ground spikes, or you can simply sink it into the ground.
We have suitable ground spikes here:

Q. |
we require the arch to fit over some steps that are 140 wide can you help? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Geoff,
The Ryeford arch won't be wide enough unfortunately. It is 134cm in width at the widest point. You will need an arch with a footprint of 140cm or greater. So a very large arch will be needed indeed!

Q. |
I understand that the upright posts of the Ryeford arch are 3" square. Do you stock metal post spikes for this size and, if you do, how much do they cost? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi Martin,
We have a number of different post ground anchors available below:
Post Ground Anchors
At present we don't do any spikes though unfortunately.

Q. |
I need an arch to fit my steps which are 138cm wide. Could this arch fit? |
| |
|
| |
A. |
Hi,
Unfortunately not. The distance between the posts of the Ryeford arch is 0.97m. So this would only fit over a path up to 97cm in width at the very most. We do have a selection of wider arches though. Please find the full offering we have at present below:
